The Bear River Apiary has been collecting and selling Yampa Valley honey to restaurants and individuals for years. It takes imagination to stay on the forefront of sustainable farming and these folks have it down.
This is grassroots economic development at its finest. Farms like Bear River Apiary keep food production, processing and purchasing in the the local community. The hope is that this will eventually lead to sustaining local business support and perhaps someday even agricultural tourism.
